Visited a friend earlier tonight who is moving out of the area to an Albuquerque suburb this weekend.

Enjoyed some excellent chili. Drank Heineken beer.

Oh, my goodness. At the risk of sounding naive, I had no idea you could eat these! I thought they were just for show, like the teeny, tiny, colorful gourds (or whatever they're called) we see around Halloween that people use for cornucopia displays. Now if I find out you can also eat those, I'm gonna have to see myself out!

Can I ask how they taste? Is it closer to a pumpkin or somewhat tasteless like a summer squash?

Closer to pumpkin and kabocha, nothing like summer squash.

I stuff with wild rice mix and sage and dribble with browned butter.

I haven't given my ravioli maker a workout in awhile, so tonight we're having crab-stuffed ravioli in a sherry cream sauce, Caesar salad (homemade dressing), Italian loaf and coconut pound cake for dessert with vanilla ice cream.
