Are there any original stores left in new jersey or have they all been updated to newer versions that we mostly see now? When I young in the 1970's there were many locations that were the small + tiny older versions but by the 80's they started disappearing or replaced with newer stores. I'd like to visit a vintage White Castle just for nostalgia sake. Thx!

Why don't you contact the company and ask them? [url="https://www.whitecastle.com/about/company/contact-us"]

We had Royal Castle. I remember the birch beer, Orange Julius and burgers by the dozen.

Have you checked the grocery store? Many have them in the freezer section. I bought a box a few years ago and they were just as I remembered...

Chicago and its suburbs have quite a few original White Castle restaurant locations. The ones with the namesake architecture: square buildings that look like a castle tower on the outside and a spartan diner on the inside. Corporate probably doesn't require the franchisees to update their buildings. Newly built locations, by contrast, have a more generic look; but you can still tell it's a White Castle.
