We are driving down this Wednesday to celebrate Thanksgiving outside of Columbus OH (east side). We are coming from Grand Rapids MI and will drive past Toledo on US 23 to get on I-75 then get back on US 23. Are there any White Castles or Sonic restaurants off the highway going the way we are driving? Thanks in advance and have a Happy Thanksgiving!

According to their web sites, there is a White Castle in Ann Arbor, but I'm not sure of the location. The one in Toledo is downtown on Cherry Street, quite a ways off of 75. If you are headed toward Columbus, you won't see a Sonic until you get near Columbus as far as Ohio goes. The closest one to Toledo in Ohio is Van Wert, Waaaaay out of your way. Just a suggestion, unless you really want the White Castle in Toledo, or plan to stop there for another reason, I would take I-475 around the west side of Toledo rather than going through downtown. I just personally prefer driving 475, myself.

Thanks for the reply. I knew there's more in Cleveland. I was hoping there would be more on the route we are taking.

When you are driving south on US 23 get off at the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti exit. It is exit 37. You want to go east on Washtenaw and take the first right which is Carpenter Rd. Go about a mile south on Carpenter and at the corner of Packard and Carpenter there is a White Castle on the NW corner next to a vaccum (sp?) store.
Be careful at exit 37, you don't want the first right exit, you want the second. This will allow you to travel east on Washtenaw Ave.

There oughta be a White Castle and maybe a Sonic on U.S. 23 between Delaware and Columbus. Heck, every other restaurant chain in the world has an outlet along U.S. 23! Have a great trip!

There was a picture in yesterdays Toledo Blade showing the construction of the first Toledo area Sonic Restaurant. I believe it was on US 20 in Rossford. They didn't give all the locations, but I would be really surprised if one of them wasn't on the west side near 23 or 475 someplace.
