OP, as already mentioned other services like Instacart or Shipt may offer a better alternative for you. Ralph's and Vons (both of which should be in your area) also offer delivery service.

Instacart allows you to pay $10 for a month's worth of deliveries instead of paying $10 each time. Or $100 for a year. I already paid Prime and Walmart $100 each for the year! So i'm only getting instacart for a month. Shipt I am sure has a similar subscription deal.

in yesterday's daily corona virus briefing the president applauded the grocers, checkers and baggers. Well deserved for sure. They must be bat-crazy with having to face us all.

Update: was able to get a Whole Foods grocery delivery finally. You have to go all the way through, and when you get a notice that no times are available, leave the page up. Refresh it periodically. If you get a notice that a slot is available, jump immediately and do not hesitate, going all the way through at once. If you're lucky, you won't have someone beat you to it. If the order is rejected, repeat the process.

Instacart's delivery fee for non-express members is only $3.99 for each delivery as long as you purchase at least $35 worth of groceries.

That sounds like grocery roulette. Good luck to you!

I'm sure that either the governor or the health department flack who ordered this Stalinist lockup will be glad to take their orders, pick the stuff up, and deliver it in a gracious and cheerful manner.

As someone not in the high risk group I go shopping once a week. I'm careful following all protocols. I will leave delivery to those in the high risk group. I don't feel comfortable asking someone else to take a risk I wouldn't take. Especially knowing how little they get paid and don't get me started on those that don't tip!

Actually, I know of at least 4 young people who were laid off that are trying to get jobs at Whole Foods or with delivery services with no luck. All 4 have been told they are "overqualified" - seems strange in these times. They are all pretty much right out of college in retail and service jobs, so I have no idea why these companies would be turning them down...

Not for Kroger, not here at least. It's $10.95.
