I just got my first food processor for Christmas, also Kitchenaide. The only thing that I have processed is pecans for my salmon bake, but it was easy to use. I have big plans for it.
Chop onions, celery, carrots, garlic.
I've partially freeze meat, then chop it into ground meat.
Any kind of dough/pie crusts.
Most of my dips with cream cheese are made in there.
The separate blades I use for making scalloped potatoes, grate cheese.........just so much. You'll love it!!
Seriously, I have one but it's not that nice. I got it about a month ago. So far, I've chopped vegetables, made biscuit dough, shredded cheese and vegetables in mine.

My favorite use is to make chicken salad. I always grill or bake a few extra breasts when we have chicken, which is once or twice a week. I use those in soups or pastas or chicken salad.
Wash and trim two or three celery stalks, and run them through the slicer. Cut two or three large, cooked chicken breasts into chunks, and place them in the food processor with the blade at the bottom. Pulse several times until the chicken is ground up. Add a handful of dried cranberries, some cashews (a can of "halves and pieces" is cheaper than whole cashews), a dollop of mayo (don't overdo--you can always add more if it's too dry), and some dried herbs like thyme and lemon pepper. Pulse some more. The chicken will be ground up but not mushy, and the celery, cranberries and cashews will still be a little chunky.
Really good in a sandwich or wrap, mixed with lettuce for a salad, or served with crackers.
My favorite use for my processor is buying cheap flank steaks and making my own ground beef.
It tastes infinitely better than pre ground beef and contains zero additives. At first it might seem expensive, but I can assure you it is not.
Slice into small pieces - Use a little bit of salt and pepper and Worcestershire sauce - start processing. Be careful not use too high of speed or go too long. Otherwise your burgers will not hold together.
