I've got that same one and have recently used it for making pie crust and shredding a big chunk of parmigiano reggiano.

Happy processing!

I use mine to mince up all the veggies for mini chicken patties (similar to crab cakes).

For making different sauces, pastes, etc., pesto for example, especially when there are nuts, garlic cloves, etc., that need to be ground up and blended in.

I just tried, for the first time, a Mexican Caesar dressing that was made in the food processor.

You can throw in fresh or stale bread and make bread crumbs.

It's a snap to make big pizza dough batches. Divide it and keep in the freezer. Try adding herbs and garlic. Good for quick breadsticks as well as pizza, calzones or focaccia.

I just got a new one as well (not for Christmas, just an ordinary buy, my old one quit on me). I needed bread crumbs to make crab cakes and boy, it did a nice job, and quickly too! I used the ends of the bread my kids don't eat from the loaf.

I also plan to make a bean dip with it. It basically contains cantanelli (sp?) beans, garlic and some olive oil with other ingredients. Just haven't had the time to try it with Christmas and all.

I never realized how often I would use a food processor until I got one. You'll find many along the way. Homemade salsa, guacamole hummus and pesto are some of my favorites. Congrats! You'll love it!!
