For me, it's pancakes. I love the idea of pancakes and all they conjure up, but actually...they're not so good.

I'll say, for one, Sloppy Joes. They sound great, smell great, they're easy to make....I like them....but I'm always asking myself why I am eating this .....still, I like them. I don't know why.

Rocky Road Ice Cream---you think, "Nuts! Marshmallows! Chocolate! Ice Cream! Its EVERYTHING I WANT!" And then you take a spoon to it and you're like "ohhhh that was kinda gross".

Raspberry stuff, especially with chocolate. I'll order cheesecake with raspberry sauce or raspberry truffles and then remember I don't care for raspberry flavor.

Cakes. I often look at some beautiful concoctions and think it looks enticing but then have it and remember that I after all do not have that much of a sweet tooth...

One thing I can think of right away is eggnog....It sounds so good and rich and creamy, then I take a sip and.....blech....I try it every year just hoping that either I don't remember it correctly or my tastes have changed.....

Steak - 3 or 4 bites is enough for me. I like the steakhouse side dishes a lot better than the main course.

Cooked Fish - wish I liked it! So healthy, and the idea of surrounding anything with capers and lemon wedges is appealing.. Particularly lox, which is so beautiful.

When IHOP had the funnel cakes a while ago. I was so excited about them and could not wait to try them. After a few weeks my wife and I went and I was disappointed. I wish I never ate them. The anticipation of eating them was better then the actual item. Funnel cakes at the fair/amusement park are a different story.
