Any ranch dressing I've ever tried has not been to my liking, either too thick or the taste was just not hitting the spot. However, whenever I enjoy a Zaxby's salad, with the ranch dressing, it hits the spot. So... my question is, where can I buy this dressing or one very similar to it?

I'm not familiar with Zaxby's. Is it a brand of dressings or a restaurant?

There's a food and drink forum here on city-data. You might have better luck there.

It's an extremely popular restaurant that features pretty good chicken.

I haven't had their ranch as the one time I ate at Zaxby's I wasn't too impressed with my sandwich - not a chicken finger person.

I do love ranch though, and I am very picky. I won't buy any of those nasty bottled ones from the stores that don't need refrigerating. I like to make the hidden valley packet with buttermilk and mayo, that's as good as it gets at home.

Good luck with your search! Did you try asking at the restaurant? I found zaxby's dipping sauce recipes on the web.

I'm thinking that they must bottle it for sale, because I found this on the web (notice the nutrition label):

Calories in Zaxby's Ranch Dressing and Nutrition Facts

I also found this:
Zaxby’s Ranch Sauce
Ingredients: Soybean Oil, Buttermilk, Egg Yolk, Salt, Distilled Vinegar, Sugar, Maltodextrin, Buttermilk Powder, Spice, Whey Powder, Monosodium Glutamate, Lactic and Citric Acid, Xanthan Gum, Propylene Glycol Alginate, Potassium Sorbate (Preservative), Modified Food Starch, Garlic and Onion Powder, Lemon Juice Concentrate, Parsley, Artificial Flavor, Calcium Disodium EDTA To Protect Flavor.

in this document: Powered by Google Docs

But of course we don't know the amounts of each ingredient... nor would we know what "Artificial Flavor" pertains to...

I think you should email them on their website and see if you can get a few bottles to keep on hand. They might be willing to ship you some.

I've never had anything from Zaxby's, however, I'm VERY picky about all salad dressings and dislike most ranch. The only one, in fact, that I like is Annie's Cowgirl Ranch dressing. You might try that one--it has a milder taste than most ranch dressings.
