I think that anyone that eats could be considered a Foodie, whether they like it or not. But, honestly, I always feel honored when someone calls me a foodie. They know that I have interest in food and take care with all aspects of food and its preparation and presentation.

I too am proud to be a "foodie" but also a Gourmet, and a Gourmand ! I am not sure why the OP is so bothered by what is just a term after all ?
