This was in Indiana. I didn't know what a Farmer Jones was before I ordered it (a week in advance) and there was no description of the dish. So presumably, people knew what it was. I saw it a few times on the menu before but never ordered until this time.

I was in the second grade and the staff wouldn't let you throw away food. This was also a Catholic school. When I started crying, I get a lecture from my nun teacher about children in Africa. I didn't eat that thing, though and was eventually allowed to throw it out.

I don't know if it was actually beef, that's just what I assumed. I guess it could have been lamb or something, but I'd be surprised if the cafeteria served such a relatively exotic meat.

OMG you poor dear - we should do an intervention for him! In the meanwhile I'd be happy to share lamb with you anytime <gets travel knife and fork out>

Legin, hope this helped solve the mystery! Your caf experience does sound pretty wretched but I bet a home cook could make a similar recipe look and taste yummy

We don't eat lamb, either. I have tried it before, but the taste is a little too gamey. At any rate, I just can't bring myself to knowingly eat a baby animal. Not that the poor cow my ground beef came from had it easy, but I just can't do lamb or veal.
