The Duramax makes 910 ft-lbs of torque, the Cummins makes 930 ft-lbs, best in class. Ford's Powerstroke diesel makes 925 ft-lbs of torque. If the 7.0L makes 550 HP, it will beat all three diesels, including Ford's own Powerstroke.
I will believe a big 7.0L gasoline V8 getting better fuel economy than the Inline-6 Cummins diesel when I see it.
