When have you ever carried spare gas or diesel fuel for your truck? And actually used it? I have zero times even though in early 2000’s it was somewhat advised to when I drove to my new town of Anchorage. If people are so paranoid, they could bring a or install a generator into trucks bed and use it to charge said truck. If you got a 300 mile range with electric and only drove 10 miles a day, why would you charge it daily? Do people fill up gas every day just so it’s always full?
You don’t need a spare gas tank because there’s a gas station on every corner and it only takes 5 minutes to fuel up.
If you buy an EV and paid for a 300 mile range and only drive 10 miles a day, you’ve wasted your money. The fuel savings is negligible.
With the exception of maybe parts runners, most of those trucks are out running all day long, sometimes sitting idling on lunch breaks with the ac running. I doubt most have time for a midday recharge.
My guess is the EV F-150 will have larger batteries than the typical EV car to support towing and hauling capacity. That would mean more range for light duty use and may not need a mid-day charge. We'll have to wait and see what the specs are.

You do realize that idling on lunch breaks takes basically no electricity in an EV. Stop and go traffic and sitting are specialties with EVs and do NOT contribute to loss of range, like idling a gas engine does.
Most urban and suburban delivery and work vehicles see less than 200 miles a day. Which is why UPS and the like are looking at EV delivery trucks. Set areas that they go to with in the daily range where they can recharge every night at the depot is ideal for them. And it's the same for tradesmen in urban and suburban areas.
Ford is not JUST going to be selling EV F150s, however, THey will still sell gas ones for those that need more range or just are politically opposed to EVs , but they will ALSO be selling a PHEV with moderate range and a gas generator backup that will be the best of both worlds: instant torque and silent running, with a generator to go longer distances is needed.
So what? There was a time when 95% of families had horses and only 5% had jalopies. Every new technology starts with a small number of early adopters.
Yeah, but nobody got a tax credit to get a car. If the technology works so well, you wouldn't need a tax break and Europe and China wouldn't need to mandate it.

Which is the most inefficient possible to way to move a vehicle. Need more range? Buy a larger, more expensive battery pack that weighs down the vehicle and thus, shortens range.
It's far more practical to just use an ICE and fill up with fuel more often when you're towing.
And how much gas would you need of you could fill up your gas tank at home every night, Ziggy?
Why would I do that? Just one 5 minute top off a week.
