I have a 94 Crown LX, not a police car, but does have oversized brakes. When driving under slight incline at 40 to50mph it sounds like running over a rumble strip. Just for a couple of seconds and starts from right side maybe rear. It vibrates seats and then stops.

Steering wheel does not vibrate even though left front tie-rod end needs replaced. Ball joints, upper and lower are fine. Front rotors need turned but this happens when not braking.

There is no noise like a whirring or whinning sound, just the sound of rumble strip. It has new tires, less than 10,000 miles, front end not out of alingement, no bent rims. I'm taking in Monday to repair shop to check out. Does this sound like wheel bearing going out or rear end?

It has a solid rear axle and traction control also.

Thanks for any ideas.

You check the U-joints on the drive shaft? I had this problem on my old LTD once.
