So a friend of mine recently paid her 2-yr-old back taxes (property tax) and still see her property listed for auction sale. She has called the tax collector office to confirm there is no back taxes, and there is no kind of violating codes (dog vaccination, etc) on her property. Why is her property still being listed for auction?

Because, obviously, they haven't removed it from the list. She just needs to check with the appropriate office to make sure that it gets removed.
