Warmer, I''d say Asheville NC. Colder I'd say Bozeman MT. Bigger I'd say Boise, ID. Smaller, I'd say Grand Junction, CO.

Overall, I'd stay in Fort Collins

Colder... I'd go for Missoula...

Warmer= Boone, NC
Wetter and VERY pretty = Bellingham, WA

Boise is pretty nice for many reasons (if you need shopping), But nearby... I prefer Moscow, ID as a nice college town.

Ft Collins... naw, I can't deal with the traffic and Soccer Moms in BIG suvs. All a matter of perspective, as reasons we get so many CHOICES!

Grand Junction is definitely nothing like Fort Collins, IMO. I've lived in both and couldn't wait to leave GJ. Downtown is practically dead. They try, but most places close by 10pm, even on the weekends. Culturally, it's a lot more like Greeley than Ft. Collins.
