Hi!

I am considering a move to Fort Collins and wanted some insight! I am single and would be looking for a studio or 1 bedroom. What can I expect to spend? And should I consider living elsewhere and commuting to Ft Collins? Also -- besides Craigslist, are there other websites to look at?

What utilities does a renter need to pay there? What is the average cost of utilities for a studio/1Bd? Good internet provider that's affordable?

Is there any dating scene for those in their 30s? I assume you have to have a car?

Thanks!

Fort Collins is a true to its roots college town. It gets pretty "empty" feeling when school is not in session. It's also really hard to find an apartment if your not a college student, but they are out there.I actually had to stay a weekend in a hotel driving around town trying different places to find an apartment that wasn't college exclusive. The impression I got when I lived there is you live there either to A.) Go to college or B.) Raise a Family. I can't say for dating life, but the demographics don't support a large year round pool. Loveland & Longmont support a larger age diversity. Ft Collins is VERY bicycle friendly, but it is a stretched out town North to South.

Are you male or female?

Either way, try match.com - even if you don't date anyone from that website, it's pure comic relief reading the profiles. Guys in their 50's looking for women in their 20's and women in their 40's wanting to play urban cougar with guys in their 20's. And of course, all the guys make 150K a year and have a "athletic and toned" body type. I like the profiles that claim they graduated from college and when asked what college "I'll tell you later."
