Knew you would love the Wellington area it is very nice. Royal Palm is OK as well. If we were moving to Lake Worth area would stay close as possible to Turnpike, further west than 95. Agree it is very frustrating...especially if new to area. The closer to the turnpike you are he can hop right on it to go to work. Remember you are only renting so you will get to know area during that time. No long term commitment if not happy. If & when ready to buy you will have a better idea of where.

Miracles do happen. Remember it is hard to find everything we like. Only you can decide what important to you. I agree with poster above try the Palm Beach forum as well.

OP, isn't your husband's job in Pompano? Lake Worth to Pompano will be a long, daily commute. I can't believe there's absolutely nothing in Broward County that could work for you. My former neighbor in Pompano is a realtor. I'll ask him if he has any suggestions for you.

I do know rents are pretty high since the collapse of the housing market here. It forced a lot more folks into the rental market.

Any particular area in boca that we should be looking?

Thanks

Boca is very nice, however it's very congested this time of year with snowbirds, which I think was a concern of yours, and it may be difficult finding a rental in your price range, 1800, I think? Delray is nice, too, but there are more pockets of iffy areas you have to watch out for. You really need a good realtor; it's next to impossible to find something on your own when you're unfamiliar with the area. And you waste a LOT of time.

If that doesn't work you may have to face the fact that what you want doesn't exist in your price range. Again, I'm not that familiar with the current rental market, but two years ago we couldn't find anything decent under $2500, and we had no pets. Good luck!
