A few small, seaside, under-the-radar municipalities, such as Sea Ranch Lakes and Manalapan, probably belong on the list. Also possibly Lighthouse Point.

Nathan Lane was so funny in "The Bird Cage." Anyway, when I read your post, I thought of this line from the movie.

My mother always said, "Live on Fisher Island, get buried in Palm Beach."

The ironic thing about that is that not a lot of retirees actually get buried here. I see a lot of reports where some end up getting buried where they came from.

True. That's because there's often a family plot or a spouse is buried in another state. My Dad was not rich, but I wanted him to be flown from Delray Beach to Boston where my Mom and most of our family is buried. I didn't have much say in the matter, so he was buried in Boynton Beach, which made things a lot easier for everyone else. If Heaven exists, I guess it really doesn't matter.

Anyway, so I don't get my virtual hands slapped for going off-topic, I only mentioned the quote from the movie because Nathan Lane picked the 2 wealthiest places in Florida and that movie was made in 1996. Guess some things haven't changed that much!
