Hey guys,

I'm new to the area and looking for apartments. I found this really nice new apartment complex but had questions about the surrounding area.

The exact address is: 100 NW 33rd Avenue Pompano Beach, FL

In respects to crime, etc. is this a safe area to live? I've heard a lot about car thefts and robbery. I'd sign a 1 year lease, so i'm just looking for areas that are safe.

Do you guys have any other recommendation for 1br/1b apartments for under $1200/month?

Thanks!

Yeah, I'm gonna be working in Deerfield Beach but I found this apartment complex that is totally brand new and has all the amenities for a good price.

Here's their website:

I have a budget for $1200 a month and this fits very well with it

Are you sure it even exists? The Google Maps data is from 2016 and there isn't a shred of evidence of construction on a complex like that. They do build them pretty quick, but they don't seem to even exist at the moment. One site says it's slated to open in 2017. Is the area good? No. Is it really bad? No. For $1200, I think you can do better. Just use Rent.com But for what it's worth, the complex looks to be quite nice and you would be safe and comfortable there for sure. The surrounding area has a 55 and over retirement community, so that's not bad, but it's also surrounded by a lot of very low rent poor areas and buildings.

They do exist! But thank you for the advice. I'll definitely check out rent.com. I've been speaking to rental managers, etc and they showed pictures of all the installation and construction going on. It looks like its going to be a beautiful property!

My only concern was the surrounding area. I feel safer knowing its a retired community but its also good to be careful with the poor areas. They are a gated community to it definitely is a plus.

Thank you again BNBR!

Personally, I'd keep looking. The surrounding area there is simply not very good. It's right next to the Highlands (very low income housing), and even those multi unit housing on 1st avenue right where the marker is... it's not good. Drugs, crime, etc. I have a friend who lives in the Highlands. And I'm probably making the area sound worse than it is to be honest.

If you can get a very nice apartment in a nice community, again, it's not THAT bad. There is definitely worse areas. And under $1200 for a brand new unit, gated community, with amenities is pretty good (has to be considering the location).

But I really do think you can do better for $1200. Keep your options open.

The Brand New Luxury Apartments | Pompano Beach FL | Luzano website doesn't show any real pictures, just drawings.

And the drawings look way too upscale for that area. I don't know how something like this could fit in there.

Why not Boca? There is some decent and safe communities all over within your budget - in much better surroundings.
