My wife and I are kicking the idea around of moving to the Ft Meyers area to be closer to my in-laws (they live in Naples). I am hoping we could get a little feedback on a few of our concerns.

1. We are looking for a family friendly neighborhood with decent size lots.

2. We are hoping to be in an area with folks in our age group (30s and 40s).

3. We would like to be close to shopping and restaurants.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

We moved to San Carlos Park about 1 1/2 years ago and like it. Some people on here will tell you to stay away from SCP but you have to realize that SCP is a huge area. Yes there are some areas that I would definitely not live in but I live on a very nice and quiet street of middle class families of all ages.

We have a larger lot because we have well and septic (which I had to get used to) but I hear water can be expensive here so am glad I don't have that bill. We back to a creek which gives us even more privacy.

We are very close to Gulf Coast Town Center which has Penneys, Belks, SuperTarget, Costco and a million other smaller stores. It was important to me too to be close to shopping.

Good luck with your hunt.
