Hey Tonya,

Don't be put off by my note, the area where you are interested has homes from 10 million all the way down to $35,000. The 35k homes are mainly 2 bedroom condos and some 55 plus housing.

I am sure there are many Realtors on this Site. There is a Remax broker located right on Cypress Lake.

I think if you like gated and newer homes you may consider Reflection Lakes. This is a large mixed use community with gates and amenities located on the corner of Cypress and Summerlin. If you want older you can look off of Overlook Dr and Cypress.

If you want to stretch a little and have a prestigious address look at some of the communities off of McGregor and Cypress.

Zillow is a great place to browse.

Know your budget. Gated Communities come with monthly or quarterly HOA dues.

Another poster said Gateway, this is East of I-75. The farthest away from Cypress Lake HS.

Another poster mentioned School Choice, this could be a factor unless Cypress Lake has seats. Talk to the school and someone at the Education Center off of Colonial and Metro Parkway.

This school system "will" put your kids on a bus and send them 14 miles away just for the sake of Diversity. It is crazy.

Good Luck!

When people on this forum ask about "Safe Areas" I hope they realize you cannot be sheltered from crime anywhere, so you need to always do research, not only on the neighborhoods, but on the areas surrounding them.

I was watching a local news channel last night and heard a story about a home invasion. Apparently it happened in December (so maybe it was about the suspect's trial) in the Paseo community in the Daniels Corridor. That's probably one of the safest, guarded communities in that area. I use the word "guarded" instead of "gated" since a gate means very little if there's no security guard to check ID.

My point is that, although a crime of this nature isn't common in such a quiet, family oriented community, many people who live in high-end homes with security, are living with their heads in the sand. You don't need to be paranoid, but you need to be aware of your surroundings.
