My stepmom called me an "alarmist" this morning and said that it's too soon to tell if Irma will have a huge impact.
By the time it's not too soon, it'll be impossible for her to get out. She mentioned something about going to a local high school as a shelter, but what good will that do if it's underwater?

The European model that predicts the path of a hurricane , which by the way has a good reputation for being accurate, is showing Hurricane Irma more left or west and headed over our area. I hope it is not accurate this time .

This hurricane is really getting on my nerves. I feel like we have been dealing with it for over a week, first it's veering west, then east, now west again. Make up your mind *itch!! The last I heard Hurricane Jose is the next one in the pipeline. :-(

I would imagine setting up your little section would be first on the agenda. Next, getting to know your immediate neighbors. If smart, they will have brought books or cards. Mostly they will probably be talking about the weather.
