There has been some mild debate on this forum regarding how well using the Power to Choose site can help people take control of their electricity costs. I have been an advocate of renewing my contracts yearly for better rates using the Power to Choose site and have seen BIG savings each year, particularly during summer months.

For those still on the fence, I am willing to post my electric bill for this past billing cycle vs. the same cycle for last year. I think doing so will provide compelling evidence that simply choosing a plan with a lower rate (per KWh) can save you pretty big money (in my book at least), and will show that only a cent or two per KWh can make a big difference in monthly costs.

So, if there is interest, I'll post . If not, then I will not bother .

-Eric

On that note, I don't mind posting my bills either. I joined Ambit almost a year ago and saw a 40% saving the following month. I took advantage of their referral program and now haven't paid over 10$ (I'm paying just the taxes) the past 7 months. I recently calculated my savings and came up with $1092. Can't really beat that
Since then I ended up becoming a consultant. If anyone is interested, PM me and I'll provide you the rates and plans

I second Eric's endorsement! We have slashed our energy costs (also by taking proactive steps at home, including those annoying new lightbulbs) and I like to play a guessing game with my bill. Happily, my guess is usually way over the actual amount!

After a year with my provider, I received a notice that my rates would increase. I found a better rate on Power to Choose, and called to report this to my provider. They beat the rate, and I've stuck with them. Love their customer service.
