Hi everyone ! We are looking to purchase a home that we liked in this area. Drove by during the day and at night and actually the neighborhood looks above average, however I keep reading statistics online and it seems the crime rate in this small community is horrible. Called the local police and was advised that statistics may show the theft related crimes that happen in the area due to it being in majority a commercial / business town. Burglaries happened near the address we are looking into, but these things happen anywhere. Anyone that is familiar with the area can please advise ? Does one fear for one's safety in Lake Worth ? I am confused as this does not appear to be a bad area but the crime rate is worse than really dangerous neighborhoods in DFW-sat least on paper. Thanks in advance

Lake Worth seems fine to me. I used to work at hobby lobby(3 weeks) and kohl's(2 1/2 years) there. I haven't ever felt unsafe in lake worth. The only thing is the bus by lowes brings some of the bums or whatever you call em around. When I see people walking around lake worth I assume they came from the bus if they look trashy.
