Hah, no, it wasn't in this thread, no, just people we've spoken to in person, and actually I have found that the feeling on this board in general seems to be to buy new. I mean, I understand some of the issues - higher maintenance, danger of living in an "older" neighborhood in that everyone's kids have grown up and moved away (I have that problem where we live now, seems like most everyone is all original owners from 40 years ago), etc. But I kind of like home improvement and I feel like buying an older house would let us really make it our own and make it look how we want. And so much of the new construction out there seems like it is a house size much bigger than we want right now. I mean, honestly right now coming from our situation, just having the five of us in a 1400-1700 sq ft 3br house to ourselves would feel like so much space.

Does anyone who knows the area know if the scarcity of rental properties right now is how it always is, or if it just has to do with the time of year? We won't be moving until July or August anyway, will there be more available then?

I think the homes in Bedford that feed into Meadowcreek Elementary are very good values and great for resale.

Rentals are always scarce but you'll see more later in the summer.

Everything is quite close between Irving and northern Tarrant county when rush hour traffic is not a factor.
