Hello,
Moving to the Tanglewood area this summer and I need a preschool for my 3 year old daughter. Can anyone recomend some good ones..she is 3 and I think 2 or 3 days a week would be great for her. I read on this forum something about waitlists and am concerned I am too late!
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I'm in Tanglewood, too and am looking for a good program for my son, who is much younger -- still an infant. I had NO idea how hard it was to get into a preschool or mother's day out program in this area! I definitely would start calling now to get put on wait lists for the Fall. So far, I have had no luck finding any openings, but maybe you will have better luck with your daughter's age group. Here are the ones highly recommended to me that are close to us:
University Christian Church
Lil Goldman Preschool
First United Methodist
First Presbyterian Church
McKinney Bible Church
St. Stephen's Presbyterian
Ridglea Presbyterian
Southcliff Baptist Church
Travis Avenue Baptist Church

Good luck -- if you find any other programs, please pass them on!

Just wanted to add another reply because I visited Southcliff Baptist's weekday preschool program the morning I posted my original reply to you. I could not have been more impressed! Excellent facilities, teachers, curriculum. They even have closed-circuit cameras in each of their rooms, so you can log on to your computer anytime with your password and check in on your child.
Here's their website if you want more information: Weekday Preschool Program | Southcliff Baptist Church

Again, good luck!

Trinity Episcopal School Trinity Episcopal Preschool
Also check into Nature School at the River Legacy Center in Arlington. It's going to be a drive, but it's only one day a week.

Kinderplatz is a private, pricey school on Hulen Street -- just another option I hadnt' seen mentioned.

Juliana,
I saw your reply to the childcare/preschool in the Tanglewood area. I wanted to see if you found any place for your son? My sister is looking for a place for her 3 month old and she is having a hard time. I was a preschool teacher at Arlington Heights Methodist Preschool and I loved it there, but it you have to be a year old to start. I thought I would just see if you had found any place for your son since he is younger.
