Any recommendations???

My wife and I are contemplating moving from Michigan and taking a job in NW Saginaw (Bailey Boswell and N. Saginaw Rd). We need to find a rental house in a nearby community that is safe, clean and non oppressive, has parks and a downtown with some basic shopping that my wife can walk the kids to.

Saginaw worked for everything until you said walkable shopping. Unfortunately, Saginaw is all strip malls and a Wal-Mart, so she would need a car. If walkable shopping is a must, about the only area I can think of is downtown Fort Worth or the area near Montgomery Plaza.

not sure about the Saginaw area--
maybe some places in Wautauga off Tarrant Parkway might work
there are neighborhoods in Bedford and Hurst that have walkable grocery stores and CVS and other needs like vets and pet grooming--the area around Central and Harwood in Bedford is pretty good
and the Precinct Line/Harwood with Wal-Mart and its strip center
Also Home Town which is basically behind the Hwy 26 Kroger/Kohl's strip center
and area in Hurst which is north of the Tom Thumb strip center on Hwy 26---
but means a drive to Saginaw for work
and most of those areas are not close to parks or other entertainment like libraries except maybe the Home Town one
