We rec'd $300.00 which we have to spend all of it at a restaurant, including a GOOD tip. No wine, we don't drink.

I'd love to have seafood, especially steamed clams.
Also, need to have steak.
Not the fancy entrees. Excellent, simple food.

I'd perferred not to have to dress up.
We've been to Ruth Chris', so somthing else.
We rarely go out, so don't want to take chances with something not good.

Any ideas?

Haven't been there in years, but eating at the Tower in Reunion Arena is a neat deal where you can spend that kind of money and just have a good time. Can't say exactly what the food is like since it's been so long...but it's still fun!

Of course, that's if it's even still there....haha

Reata is nice in downtown FW, but it's not that expensive. How many people does your $300 budget cover for?

I have heard really good things about III Forks. Here is a link to their menu - III Forks ~ Restaurant

It looks like it might fit the bill Enjoy and where ever you venture, please let us know how it was . Bon Apetite!

As previous posters have said, Reata and III Forks are both very good. I believe that Antares at Reunion Tower is currently closed for refurbishment.

Ideas I had were The Keg, Trulucks, or Del Frisco's.

It's for the 2 of us. Our dd gave it as a Christmas gift, she's a waitress so expects us to tip big! LOL

She knows we never go out but also said we could divide it into 2 outings but had to spend it all.

I looked at Turlucks menu. It seems to be one of the few places that has clams! That may be the place for us. Dh will probably want steak.

McCormick and Schmick's near NorthPark in Dallas will definitely have great seafood, and I believe they serve steaks there. They're a national chain and not super-duper upscale.

Abacus served the best beef tenderloin I've ever had...it might be too "fancy" food, though. Maybe Pappa Bros's Steakhouse.

I second Reata on the Ft. Worth side.

Steak and seafood are probably a tough combination in D/FW, especially if you are looking for "simple" food. I'd say go to 2 places.

III Forks in Plano, or its Fort Worth/Grapevine sibling, The Silver Fox. I don't recall clams on the menu, but they do have seafood. We went to the Grapevine Silver Fox for our anniversary this year and loved it!

Trulucks would have the clams because they advertise as being steak and stone crab so I figured they specialized in other seafood also. Most of the places that cater to the steak eaters will have lobster and maybe crab but probably not clams. Bob's Steak and Chop House is another place you could try although I don't think it's as good as most people claim.

I know all the places mentioned you can definitely do business casual or "church" wear.

we ate at McCormicks a couple of years ago--just once--so this is not the best review but it was crowded and noisy and did not think the food was as good as the prices

3 Forks I have also heard is good and we have friends who have eaten at Silver Fox in grapevine and really liked it--they also though Bob's was good
check out a TX Monthly from around Feb --there was article about top steak places in TX and a couple are in Metroplex

there is steak place in Gaylord Texas hotel which gets rave reviews--don't know about the clams though...

Mac's Steaks and Seafood in Colleyville has clams on their appitizer menu--my friend gets them with a salad sometimes--just steamed with some butter and broth--and their steaks are fairly good for the price--you could eat there 5-6 times with your 300
