You could also think about taking Great Southwest if you decide to further look at the Joe Pool Lake area. It turns into Lake Ridge which takes you the grand Peninsula/ Mira Lagos area. That drive isn't bad at all to get to Pioneer and you avoid getting on 360.

Ah, thanks for the heads up Tiger. That would be a good way to avoid 360. I'll look into it. I think I'll be heading up their this weekend to check a few of these areas out.

Las Colinas doesn't seem to have many options for houses. Am I off base here?

Actually, far north Irving is okay on the house front, but they're both older and not inexpensive.

I'd steer clear of that area purely because the foundations must be like the roads in the area. Drive O'Connor, you'll understand.

Default Las Colinas

However, you might really enjoy living in Las Colinas. Its potentially a good scene for the childless. You can check out condos at Grand Trevino.... once the entertainment district and the dart station is done I think those would be a good investment. Right now they are well priced. We have lots of foundation issues here, so if you are looking its a good idea to aim for pier & beam houses.....

I know you really want to buy but just keep in mind that you can either rent a place to live or rent money. You're not building much equity until after year 5 on a 30 year mortgage. Now if you have large dogs then getting your 'own' place by renting money makes sense.
