It's not a competition to see who can have more people. Look at San Francisco, it's smaller than San Jose but way more known.

Look at DC, it's smaller than Baltimore, but way more known.

Look at Miami, it's city population is tiny but it's more known than Jacksonville's.

Dallas will always be the most known city in the Metroplex.

Yes technically the Baseball team is "Texas Rangers" so people can call that a draw between whose it is. It doesn't have the city's name in the title.

San Francisco will catch up. Miami and Jacksonville are not neighbors, they are across the state from each other. Washington is in a whole other ballgame as it is not in Maryland and is in a Federal District. There is no way Fort Worth can beat Dallas. They need to forget about it.

That's true I cant. I will have to wait to see if they change the name like they did for the Twin Cities, and Boston, or if they'll keep the same name. Only time will tell about that.

Yeah, that's a possibility. San Francisco might catch up, it might not. New estimates have put San Jose above a million, and there's room to expand, and it's rate of growth is faster, it's got more job availability as well, and the fact that is has more land to expand, that puts San Francisco at a large disadvantage. Even though they can always build up skyscrapers, but that costs a lot of money, and their economy is very fragile right now. So we shall see.

Baltimore was once America's second largest city after NYC, and it held that title for a few decades. It's been an importance city in the past and still is. But yes DC is better known for what it is, which is our capital.

That's the point I'm trying to make, that Dallas has already established it's importance, there's no taking it away now, unless it goes through what Detroit did.

And no one knows for sure if Fort Worth can beat Dallas or not, but it's credited, they have a lot of land to expand in, they're annexing, and they're the second fastest growing city in Texas, after Austin. That really gives it a good look.
But yes, it's 600,000 smaller than Dallas, and that's a huge gap, it can't fill that gap, not this decade, and maybe not even next, but we shall see where it takes us.

Its not about beating anyone or winning. Ft Worth will, most likely, eventually have a larger population than Dallas. Dallas will never annex Mesquite or Garland, they are independent cities that would never want to be annexed. Its the same reason why San Francisco will never surpass San Jose in population.....simple facts, land. Hmm, maybe San Francisco should just annex San Jose....

Fort Worth has the business attraction too, it's got the second largest number of billionaires after Dallas in Texas. It's headquarters to AMR and other F500 companies also.

Fort Worth isn't a slouch.

Before Fort Worth talks about wanting to surpass Dallas in population it needs to worry about widening out I35W north of downtown all the way passed the Texas motor Speedway and also Northeast Loop 820 from I35W to I20. Besides most of the new population boom will continue to move to Denton, Collin, and also Rockwall County. Fort Worth will not pass Dallas anytime soon so GET OVER IT FORT WORTH!!!!
