Do you dig out the last bit of deodorant from your stick deodorant? I DO -- but it makes me feel poor when I do that. I find myself asking -- "Am I that poor that I need to dig out the every. last. bit. of. deodorant?"

I do it. But I don't like doing it.
Soooo, you might say, "well, stop doing it." But if I do that I feel like I'm wasting that last bit.

DO you have anything that YOU do -- that really likely only saves you pennies -- that you sometimes wonder -- "WHY am I doing this."

I mean, I rinse out the last bit of spaghetti sauce, and I pinch out the last bit of toothpaste. And I reuse paper towels, aluminum foil, and plastic take out food containers. I find myself asking, 'do I really need to ALSO dig out the last quarter teaspoons of deodorant?

Go ahead, waste that last little bit of deodorant. Think of it as your one wild indulgence.

I let go of all those things that are pennies. Sometimes I will still rinse out the last of the laundry detergent, but it's 8 freaking cents. I normally do not bother anymore. Time is money. Time to relax is important for mental health. And what you said about feeling impoverished really stuck out to me: it isn't worth it! Throw it away!

Yes, I ask myself why do I cut open the tube of toothpaste, to get one or two more bushings out of it. But I continue to do it, it's my nature.

No.

I don't.

I'd rather waste an application's worth of deodorant - what does that cost, 10 cents? - than waste a minute or two of my time fiddling with crumbly deodorant that doesn't apply properly.

Life's.
Too.
Short.

I was taught these things from a depression-era gma and a step-mother who grew up dirt poor with 9 siblings. Pennies DID make a difference. Now, they don't enough to be worth many of these tiny things.

I hate getting to the end of my stick deodorant. I'll start a new one and leave the old one sitting there, telling myself I'll use it up eventually. When I begrudgingly attempt to get it out, it crumbles, falls on the carpet and I end up picking up specks and throwing them in the trash. I'm done with that. So not worth it.

If it's too much trouble, I'm not doing it. Tooth paste, I squeeze until nothing else comes out. I don't cut the end off. Too much trouble. Rinsing out the last bit of shampoo, conditioner, body wash & handsoap is easy, so that I do.

I find that once it gets close to the end what's left is just not effective, so I toss it before hitting the plastic thing. Just not worth the few cents to worry about your deodorant failing. I usually find it on sale in a double pack, and buy several so still save that way.
