Can't stand kool-aide for the kids, soda is for our pizza night only. We get tired of water, or at least the kids get tired of water. Any suggestions?

Recently I bought a quart of "Nature Blessed Cherry Juice Concentrate". At first I mixed it with just plain tap water then over ice. However after mixing it with soda water it came to life. Now I love it.

Tea. Herbal tea is great because there is such a variety of flavors to choose from, pretty much every fruit flavor under the sun. And you can have it hot in winter, or iced in summer. And it's way healthier for the kids than sugary drinks.

Ice tea. Coffee. Crystal Geyser flavored waters (like soda with no sugar).

Tap water. Maybe about five canned drinks a week, either bargain beer or generic cola. I keep a jug of cranberry cocktail mixed half and half with water in the fridge for an occasional sip, a half-gallon of cran lasts about a month. No coffee or tea. Milk only on daily cereal. Never drink with meals.

TEA! I always have a pitcher of some kind in the fridge. Boil your own with bags or loose tea (avoid the cold-brew kind, it's more expensive and not as good). I add some sugar while it is still hot, not as much as if I was making Southern Sweet Tea, just enough to take the edge off. You can always add more sugar to your glass later.

I also brew it pretty dark, it can be diluted later to taste, or to strech it out.

Try lots of kinds for variety. Green, flower and fruit flavored teas don't need as much sugar for my taste. I'm into peach tea at the moment.

Also, invest in some live mint (it grows like a weed). Throw some in the pitcher when you brew for a flavor blast!

Lemonade is also hard to beat if you can find a good price on lemons. Don't bother with concentrates or powers, it's not the same.

Water tastes a lot better when you float fruit (berries, lemons, limes) in the pitcher and chill.

There is a vast world of tea & coffee flavors to explore along with juices and flavored waters (not kool aid). I really like all sorts of hot/cold teas and trying different coffee blends.

One thing that will make water a real treat is what we used to call "ice box" water when I was a kid......a glass jug of water kept ice cold in the fridge. Something magic happens to water in that jug. Ya just can't get enough!
