Evidently the couple of rabbits around are coming and eating my plants. One rose is chewed up near the bottom and our bluberry is stripped of all leaves and berries!

Anything besides a fence that might help keep them out of my plants?

Fencing is your best bet when they are chewing at the base of shrubbery. You don't want them to gnaw through the bark and kill the plants.

I've had some success with milorganite and deer and rabbit repellents but I'm finally accepting I need a good fence to keep all critters off my property.

I tried everything under the sun last year to keep them out, from pepper flakes to a glass jar fence, soapy water, and nothing worked. Had some brand new beautiful lilies that they ate down to nubs. This year, the lilies came back bigger, stronger and more of them! But the rabbits left them alone! I know this isn't helpful now, but maybe you'll have that same luck next year.

I have found only two things that work against wild rabbits... dense metal fencing and coyotes.

Whip up a batch of hasenpfeffer for dinner! (just kidding ...)

We have bunnies everywhere; I use a solution of hot pepper sauce (like Frank's Red Hot -- only use the cheapest stuff available) and water, and spray it on the threatened plants. Works like a charm. Apparently our bunnies have delicate stomachs.

A cat in your garden also does wonders.
