My wife brought home a pencil cactus from a coworker last spring and I've taken a fondness to nursing it back to health.
I've managed to get it to double it's biomass over the last year just with some light fertilization and repotting, but it's still very leggy and not as dense as pictures I see online.
Any tips for getting the internode distance down? Is it light dependent? Should I repot it in a sandier soil (opposed to the standard potting soil it's in now)? Should I prune it back? If so, when?
