Hello to all!

I have an idea for a garden bed, the idea involves Phlox.

I have a small patch of dirt, where i would like to put a 10inch PVC pipe and stick it in the ground. Around the PVC pipe i would put chicken wire. I would then fill the pvc pipe with soil and plant my Moss phlox at the top.

My question is this:

Will the Phlox then crawl down the pvc pipe and anchor itself to the chicken wire, so that i woul get this pillar of Phlox, or is this not behavior you see from phlox?

Hope it makes sense

- Jack

I have had luck with morning glories and clematis climbing down with a little help from me.

I don't know why the creeping phlox wouldn't do the same. I've seen it overhanging stone walls and such.

But I'm not sure how long it can get. Wouldn't you have to stagger plants down the pipe at intervals? Unsure.
