They will grow, though slowly even when the temperatures are around or just above freezing, but prefer at least 40-45C. Soak them in water overnight indoors to give them a head start, and I would say in your zone about April 1st. You could plant them now in a tray inside and transplant mid-April.
I'm in zone 6 with a last frost date of 5/15. When can I safely plant some peas? Any other cold tolerant veggies that I should consider?
