Toro 6.5 HP push mower and the previous owner said it would run for 15-20 minutes and then cutoff. She thought it might be a solenoid. Anyone had similar issues? Walmart has one $9.99 though I have not looked closer for model number, just glancing at prices. May be a junker mower.

Sounds more like overheating and vaporlock. Have you removed the shroud and blown the cooling fins clean of debris?

The first thing I'd try is the fuel cap. They can plug and give exactly the symptoms you are having. Run with it loosened and see what happens.

A bad coil will do the same thing as it gets hot. Buying one of those may get you into more $$$ than you want.

Check the intake manifold gasket where it enters the block. When these gaskets heat up they start to leak on older engines and the mower won't start when it gets warm.

These older mowers have Tecumseh engines in them and they are no longer in business. These is one web based company which bought all the replacement parts and they can send you anything you need....for a price.
