I took a few seasons off from veggie gardening due to groundhog/deer eating everything.
I love gardening so I'm back albeit late. I constructed a nice raised bed with a removable fence barrier. I planted 4 nice pepper plants, but have tons more room. If this works out I plan on making 4 or 5 more beds similar in size. The bed is 6'x4'. I know I can probably do green beans but what else can I start from seed now?
Thanks
As long as the soil has warmed up you should be able to start any warm season veggie that can mature fast enough but it's probably too late for some of the cool season ones. You can usually start them in late July or August though, depending on your climate.
A bit late for seed starting for warm season vegies, especially in NY, and too early for cool season. You could probably still do basil- just watch for bolting and keep taking off any flower heads.
Come July, you can start thinking cool season.
What about started plants from a garden center? They should still have some things left.

I say just start planting. Why stare at an empty bed all summer? I agree its too late but you can still try. We may have an extended summer so you may benefit from it. Soil temps are in the 60s now so they should germinate nicely. No heat waves next 10 days so you don't have to worry about new seedlings stressing.
Here in NY it's a little late to plant veggie seeds, but there is no reason why you can't plant starter plants. With the chilly weather we have had there are tons of plants that will do well on the market. Skip the seeds and go to any local garden center to buy what you want to plant.
