I had a chance to taste this "Hami" melon, which is from the Xin Jiang province of China. It is, in my book, the king of fruits.
Hami melon must be a cousin of cantaloupe, because of the similarities. But they are very different fruits. Hami melon is very sweet, but not so sickening sweet as the cantaloupe. The texture is crunchy instead of soft. It looks like a football, rather than a volleyball. The best ones are sweet, juicy, and crunchy. YUM!
So, anyone knows how to grow this fruit if I have the seeds?
They sell this at Costco and some Persian supermarkets near me. There’s no need to grow them. I’ve always thought it’s a Persian melon, I would just try growing it just like any other melon.
