Hi all,

I've got a problem with the leaves on one of my hostas. The center of the leaves seem to be worn paper-thin. This appears on about half of the leaves on the plant.

Google image searching didn't reveal a similar-looking leaf condition, so I'm curious if any of you have seen this, know what it is, and how to best treat it. Kind of looks like a pest issue, but it seems to be too early in the season for nematode problems, for instance.

Where is it located, sun, shade, partial? It looks like sunburn. I have never seen that on ours, but they are all in total shade 24/7. I have seen it at neighbor's yards and at a local school where it's in the sun later in summer (we get very little sun until July here).

It gets a few hours of morning sun, but is in shade from about 12:00 onward. This plant has been in place since 2018 and hasn't suffered any sun-related problems before, and it hasn't been a particularly sunny or hot spring here (quite the opposite in fact). We had very very late frost here, so perhaps it could be wind or frost damage. I'd expect that more around the edges than in the middle of the leaf, though. Hmmm...
