I have 5 acres and just cleared a couple of them with new seed and straw put down. Besides this I have about an acre of grass so I am looking at about 2.5-3 acres total once it all grows. Just bought a zero turn as my JD tractor with mower deck just beats me up too bad. I was going to purchase a 25 gallon boom sprayer for the back of my ATV to both fertilize my yard and do the weed control. I have always taken the attitude in all my years that as long as my yard is green I am happy meaning clover and so on. Well not I'd like a nicer yard. Someone suggested TruGreen and they are rated number 1 per Consumer Affairs. Called them and of course kind of a hard sell but I told him to send me the info and I'll decide later. They recommend a once a month treatment in my case for what I mentioned in the title from April until Thanksgiving and my new yard may not do well if it is not done monthly. Of course you can tell them not to come a particular month and there is no charge.

Being the amateur I am is this info correct or can I get them, or someone, to do a treatment for each 2-3 times a year?

I live out in the country so my options are limited to me doing it all or a national company as finding locals for this is pretty daunting.

Tenacity will kill the weeds during and after seeding. My lawn looked like I was growing lettuce 3 weeks later 90% of weeds dead.
