I live in Ventura County, CA. I have a small Cara Cara orange tree that is about 10 years old. I get excellent oranges from it every year. This year there was not a single blossom. Its not like they fell off, I never saw it attempt to bloom. Otherwise it looks healthy to me. After the last harvest last year I pruned a few branches low on the trunk that were actually touching the ground. I've never pruned anything on it before. Its hard to believe that would cause this, but it is the only thing that is different from previous years.

Any ideas?

Have you tried calling your local extension office?

My citrus are not producing either. Neither are my Peaches.

On the brightside, my olive trees are cranking out olives by the bushel...

The lack of moisture or a lack of adequate chilling hours this past winter season might be possible culprits for non production this season......

Water has been close to the same as always, possibly slightly more. I have never heard of an orange tree needing chill hours.

If you're having an extreme heat situation in your CA area then it's probably a dry pollen problem.

Not if he didn’t see any flowers or buds though.

Sometimes a really productive year is followed by a dud year. It’s as if the tree says please I need a rest. But is it possible you had buds that dropped off while still green?
