Has anyone here ever tried growing Goji Berries. Also known as Wolfberry or Lycium Barbarum. Are they difficult to grow? I myself live in Kalamazoo, MI and our climate seems like it would be able to support the growth of Goji Berries as they can tolerate some temperature extremes.
I have researched them somewhat but i would like to hear from people growing them personally.
I would suggest planting them where you could protect them from winters up there. I did plant them in Tennessee when I lived there and the bush did well. It did get bit back during the winter there on the tips of the limbs. Sadly I found out I couldn't eat the berries though. For some reason when I ate them dried or just off the bush. It would really stop up my bowels. To the point I had to drink a half a JUG of prune juice! To get regular again. Sorry if this offends, but that is what happened. Just 15 or 20 berries would do this.
what happened was my cat got into my seedbed a few weeks ago to make a whiz and was digging for a while. I had planted calendula plants and Goji berries. Now some small plants have come up and i do not know ehtehr they are calendula or goji Can anyone help me distinguish? They may all be Goji, or calendula.
This is what a young Goji Berry looks like. Those look Calendulas to me.
These are Calendulas.
