Anyone know when is the best time of the year, cost wise, to build a deck? We know we want to do it but we can wait & are assuming spring/summer are primetime for builders. We live in San Antonio though, where it is mild all year so may be there is not an off season??? We would be hiring it out.

Don't do it during hurricane season. Lumber prices go way up even for pressure treated.

I'm a contractor right outside of New Orleans and work is so slow right now that you can get most work completed for about 25% less than this time last year.

Not sure how it is in San Antonio right now but if it's like the rest of the country you should be able to get a good deal.
