I'm going to be moving out soon, I'm 22, and I realize it's time to "cut the cord." It seems as though children (young adults) are living at home far too long nowadays, and am curious as to when others on here finally took the leap?

Reason: Moved from General US.
I went into the Army when I was 19 in 1966.
Didn't move back in with Mom and Dad when I got out of the Army.
Not because of any problems between us, I just thought it was time to make a life for myself.
Moved into college at 18, and after that, all breaks, summers, etc. have been either in an apartment with a friend, or in my boyfriend's & my apartment.
Started college at 19. I guess that counts as 'moving out', otherwise, I still live at home when the school year is over.
Yeah I wouldn't count that as "moving out" but it still is a big change and hard to get used to for some people, especially the ones that aren't very independent. I would consider living at school basically a step towards moving out officially, though.
I moved for college at 18 and haven't really lived at home since (a month at most in between moving)...but I'm still technically riding the gravy train as much as I can...oops!
