I find it odd that New Yorkers move to ATL's suburbs for a cheap house but complain about being in a suburb. Why do they do this?

I don't know, but Upstate NY has homes that are just as affordable in the cities and suburbs. So, maybe they come back...lol

instead of fitting yet another stereotype by minding somebody else's business and being nosy, why don't you keep it moving?

one miserable person making another person miserable doesn't make anybody happy.

I don't think it's limited to NY-ers. It's a human condition. People are entranced by a lower cost of living or a slower paced life, but tend to forget that the lower cost likely means a different lifestyle. There's a reason that high cost of living areas are expensive - demand. People want to live there for a reason. If someone is ready to change their lifestyle, great, but don't expect to move to the 'burbs and be able to walk everywhere or have great public transit around.

we have many reasons to complain (and many reasons to be grateful). every city has its pros and cons. it just so happens that for most ppl here, the pros outweigh the cons.

i'm sure that the ppl in whatever city that you're from complain in their own city about their city too. this is america.
