There is some beautiful scenery all over America but because I live on the east coast I have a chance to tour those States the most. After visiting all the US States east of the Mississippi River I can not decide which one is the most beautiful.

So, which State in your opinion is the most beautiful?

Tough choice to narrow down, but I'll stick w/ New Hampshire, Vermont, North Carolina, and Virginia as the cream of the crop. Every state has beautiful and scenic areas, but part of my reasoning for these choices is I'm thinking in terms of % of land area that is easy on the eyes.

This is an easy one! New York has the Adirondaks and Catskill mtns, the Finger Lakes, the beautiful rolling hills of the southern tier, wonderful coastlines and beaches of Long Island and Lake Ontario, Lake Champlain and Lake George etc.

The whole northern New England region is magnificent!! The Maine coast and north country, White Mountains and lakes in New Hampshire, the Green Mountains and hamlets of Vermont.

New York (Adirondacks, 1000 Islands, and Finger Lakes), Pennsylvania's mountains and mill towns, Virginia's Blue Ridge, and North Carolina's Smokies and Outer Banks (hurry before the Outer Banks are further raped by resort development). Also the sea islands of Georgia are beautiful as well.

I think in the end it comes down to a close race between Maine and New Hampshire.

Id have to agree with sweetclimber. NY is beautiful... upstate NY is its own little world, one of the most beautiful areas in the country! Then you also have: Maine, parts of NC, parts of VA, parts of PA, VT, CT, NH, etc.
