There something about a huge sprawling freeway stack interchange with crossing flyovers to be marveled, impressive engineering and infrastructure. What are some of the most notable ones in the US? Also any interchanges proposed to be rebuilt?
The High 5 in Dallas would be the most massive. Its a monster, literally.
As for having the most impressive freeway stacks overall...

I personally can't believe they build these things like they're going out of style out West and in the Sun Belt! They are SO expensive that they are usually cost-prohibitive except for the most urgent urban uses in cities with SEVERE traffic congestion. I rarely see interchanges like these in Midwest/Northeastern cities, which are typically more dense and have less space for freeways, yet they're quite prevalent out West in areas with tons of room to bulid. That is not to say that they are ALL built in areas with lots of room, but it looks like some are...
I don't get it! Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Yea, totally.
The M-39/I-96 interchange in Detroit is pretty cool but hardly impressive compared to out west and down south.

The other stack (I-75 / 696) is pretty tame as well.

What's cool though is that both interchanges are almost perfectly symmetrical.

^Sometimes I forget just how damn BIG Detroit is.....looking at Google Maps and those intersections relativity to downtown, that area was a good 10-12 miles away, but the n'hoods around it looked pretty urban! Hope Detroit turns it around, 'cause the Midwest has such cool cities that have gone silent since the 60's.
