Here's my list:

Shop
: Macy's, Kohl's, Payless Shoes, Old Navy, TJ'Maxx, Men's Warehouse
Dine: Madonna Inn, Garcia's, Olive Garden, Hometown Buffet, Chipotle
Play: Regal Cinema, Mustang Lanes Bowling, Hiking trails

Does your city have enough places to shop, dine, and play at?

I tend to shop at Macy's, The Finish Line, K&G, and TJMaxx. Anything from suits to athetic apparel.

Too many places to name that I've dined at.

I don't often have enough time to play; I work long hours at my job.

More than enough.

I play outside and dine at home, although my town has plenty of dining options. I only shop when I have to, and then I try to find what I need at local businesses. If that doesn't work I might go to the mall. *shudder*

My town excels at the playing part. People here play in the Chugach Mountains and Prince William Sound, and do things for fun that most people have only seen on tv. All the retail establishments here except the grocery store are locally owned. You can get most things you'll actually need and a few you don't, and there's good food at some of the local restaurants. We usually eat at home though, unless we're too tired from playing or working. We also go to Fairbanks or Anchorage sometimes to see friends and buy things we can't get here. Most places we shop or eat there are also locally owned.

Shop: Outlet Malls in Kittery, Maine & Wrentham, MA. Food - Market Basket, Shaws, Whole Foods, & Trader Joes. I try to be a locavore sometimes and go to the local farmers markets, they always have the best food. Tendercrop Farm, Newbury, MA - awesome.

Dine: Local resturants here in Salem, MA - Engine House Pizza, Bertinis (Italian), Finz & Capts for Seafood, Howling Wolf Taquiera (good Mexican for Mass.), love the North End of Boston (Little Italy) for Italian. Chains: I like Bertucci's, Five Guys, Fudruckers, & Uno's.

Play: summer cottage on Cape Cod, beaches at local kettle ponds and Cape Cod National Seashore. I like hanging out at local stomping grounds in downtown Salem (Beer Works), very fun here at Halloween. Roadtrips, I really dig Lake Champlain and the Green Mountains of Vermont, Newport, RI and RI beaches, Portsmouth, NH is fun for a pub crawl, walking around town, and dining out. And I travel to another region of the country at least twice a year, sometimes more.

All this will be changed up come springtime when I get to NM.

I like hearing about how everyone enjoys their own different city life.

Everyone has their grocery markets they like, places to eat, places to shop, and things to do for fun.

The busyness and urban life fascinates me.

If I am reading what people posted, it sounds like most people dine where ever and mostly at local places. And for play it sounds like most people are referring to bars and outdoor activities.

Clothing for people seem to be more mid-range clothing dep. stores.

Shop: Hot Topic, Spencer's, Pac-sun, various thrift stores and other indie boutiques
Dine: Taco Bell, McDonald's, Wahoo's, In-N-Out
Play: Downtown Long Beach, LA, or Fullerton, mostly for nightclubs and such.

BTW I am currently 19 in Jr College, 12 years old at heart, still living with parents and moving out within the next year or so.
