No one in this rich country should be going hungry btw. SMH. But alas, there are many who appear to be facing hardships as far as being able to eat. The more important question is what can those of us who are fortunate enough to afford food, what can we do about it?
It's important to understand exactly what this means. The "food hardship rate" is defined as the percentage of people who answer yes to the question:
“Have there been times in the past twelve months when you did not have enough money to buy food that you or your family needed?”
IMO, the real problem is lack of education regarding cooking and nutrition.
Very sad that hunger is still an issue in the 21st Century, but important information nonetheless.

That is true, but this country also wastes massive amounts of food each year. There is no reason why some of our food resources could not be re-directed to completely abolish hunger.

I don't get how that is a problem of cooking and nutrition.
Wow I'm proud of my state having the 8th lowest food hardship ranking in the county, my metro having the 12st lowest food hardship, and 3 three other PA metros ranking with very low food hardship rates (Lancaster, York, and Harrisburg).
I've been to pittsburgh, I wouldn't be TOO proud...
What's that smart remark supposed to mean? Do you really have nothing better to do than make a stupid comment?
